Cindy Downes — Freelance Writer . . .

I don't know which I enjoy more – reading, writing or research? Reading the books of others whether fiction or nonfiction, biographies or mysteries, academic tomes or children's picture books helps me to envision new ideas and experience unfamiliar worlds. Fashioning my own words and ideas together into stories, articles, and books yields the satisfaction of accomplishment as I entertain or educate others. And the process of research not only energizes me, but it enlightens me with understanding on a topic previously unexplored.

The Web site . . .

I created this Web site in order to share a bit of information about myself, my products, and my intense love of books. I also hope to give you, my readers, a peek into the life and career of a freelance writer and self-published author. Perhaps, it will encourage you to write a book of your own!

For Teachers Only . . .

Because I enjoy research so much, I am including a section just for my readers who are teachers. Included here are some of my favorite Internet and book resources for teachers, whether you teach in a school or at home.

“The best way to
become acquainted
with a subject is
to write a book
about it.”
— Benjamin Disraeli

“If there's a book
you really want
to read,
but it hasn't
been written yet,
then you
must write it.

Toni Morrison
